Lets talk some football  there are some good games  lets start with  Boston College vs  Virgina tech(-13.5)  -480   This is a game that for the past couple of years has been close but i dont think  BC has the QB play this year to keep up with the Hokies. Of course theres no way i would ever lay that big a number with Frank Beamers Defense first play calling. VT doesnt lose in Blacksburg  I just dont see how Boston College pulls this off  Tyrod Taylor is making plays the offensive lines seems to have jelled and they can run the ball.  Sure wish VT would open up the offense they could blow teams out with that A+ bud foster defense. VT DE Jason worilds will have a field day at least 2 sacks.  VT  27  BC 16      VT would be a must for you ML parlay players not a lock but close to it VT is a very good team  playing at home, like i said no way i would lay the 13.5 Beamer could care less about that he just wants to play beamer ball and do just enough to get  the W.     Next pick is Vanderbilt -  (10.5 - 390)  vs Army   This is a game i love for the ML as well, you have a SEC team vs an academy team sorry but fade the service schools vs anybody from the SEC. If its one thing i know its Vandy and Bobby Johnson football I dont see anyway that  Vandy has a problem  stopping armys option. Vandy is a read option team they face the option everyday in practice. Chris marve will is an active linebacker he'll stay home and make plays.  Not sure if Vandy covers the points they are alot like Virgina Tech  above average defense but you dont know what you're going to get on the offensive side of the ball.  Take  Vandy ML -390  Parlay it with Virgina Tech  love ANY SEC team VS   army.    3rd game i love  is Alabama  -  195  vs Ole miss  don't even know what the spread is dont care take Alabama they are the better team, risky taking  any away game in the SEC, its so hard to win on the road but  Alabama is the real deal folks, mcelroy is doing the job the o-line looking great and lets face it who in the ole miss Defensive Backfield can stop Julio jones?  After Ole miss got stomped by arkansas they were placed on my "do not play" list. I dont lay points on the road in the SEC its ML or nothing for me  Take  Alabama -195  to get the win on the road in the SEC , Alabama Defense is maybe the Best defense i've seen all year or in the top 3  VT,USC, Alabama.             Some other picks that i havent locked in  West Virgina -380 over Syracuse, Sure the orangemen have improved but come on West virgina  this is a game you should win  WV coach bill stewart is conservative and im sure the game will be close into the 2nd half but noel devine and that WV offense will pull through and win. Greg paulus will throw a couple of picks.   Ohio state is another good pick this weekend im probably not playing it but if you need something to fill in a ML parlay buckeyes -600 is a good pick they don't loose at the horseshoe i wont be playing it though at -600  but they should win and i like wisky but they dont have enough firepower to beat the sweatervest @ the horseshoe  Pryor has a big big game.   Georgia vs Tennesee  is intresting  I think Georgia pulls it out as a underdog  although i will say this that Vol defense is legit a very good defense one of the best in the SEC. I just dont think they can score enough points to beat Georgia but i wouldnt bet on that. Last game  Florida -7  and  -275 ml if Tebow plays i might have to jump on that ML or even the -7  I really really like LSU's defense but the LSU offense and Jordan Jefferson are kinda shakey  Freshman QB Russel sheppard looks like he doesnt understand anything going on.   Thinking about Teasing the under 46.5  to 50 something with florida -7   even in death valley at night i dont see Florida losing the game.  We all know Tebow is going to play simple as that.   So my 3 teamer ml parlay is   Bama -195, VT hokies - 390,  and  Vandy -390    and possible play on  Teaser  Florida -7 and  46.5   good luck this weekend!

Ok lets talk some  WEC  43  going to be a nice free card on the vs channel   one thing i can promise you is there will be some good beatdowns as there are  some good mismatches.  First match on the undercard  Javier "showtime" Vasquez  (13-3)  vs  Deividas Taurosevicius (10-3)   This is not one of those mismatches i mentioned  both of these are quality lightweights   Taurosevicius is an IFL veteren with a win over my ex teammate a very tough Savant Young with that said hes a good striker decent wrestler with above average ground skills... too bad hes fighting Vasquez a guy who is a world class Bjj blackbelt and above average wrestler.  Vasquez isnt a striker at all hes a ground n pounder and he'll be able to control  Taurosevicius in route to a DEC pick is Javier "showtime Vasquez by UDEC,                The second undercard fight is Coty Wheeler (10-1) vs. Charlie Valencia (10-5)    Coty is a big 145 er  wasnt to impressed with his overall skill level  but he is fighting my former buddy/training partner  Charlie Valencia, Charlie is a stud simple as that hes had some losses of late but he has the talent level to be a problem for anybody at featherweight  class.   My pick  Charlie Valencia by Dec     Third fight is  Anthony Njokuani (10-2) vs. Muhsin Corbbrey (7-3)   ok this one falls into my rule always take the good american over the incoming japenese  not to mention Muhsin is Going take the win by whatever he wants.   The next fight of the undercard  Manny Tapia (10-2-1) vs. Eddie Wineland (14-6-1)    Tough fight to call Eddie wineland was a former contender  and manny tapia was a star on the rise i dont like his camp and i've seen the wholes in his game but i still think he'll come back and  put on a good performance and take an  Dec   Manny Tapia UDEC         The main card lets start with  
Anthony Pettis (7-0) vs. Alex Karalexis (10-4)   take Alex karalexis because of his experience  hes not very good but i think he''ll find a way to get the w but dont be surprised if pettis pulls it off.  I wouldnt bet it but  karalexis by ko is the pick.      next up we have    Damacio Page (11-4) and Will Campuzano (6-0)      Just on wrestling base alone i pick Damacio page from Greg Jackson's gym  i've wrestled with Damacio hes a stud and i know nothing about will campuzano and i know of just about everybody should tell you who to take   That would be Damacio page by Tko       This is basically a fight to boost him as a lightweight title contender.  co main event  Rich Crunkilton (16-2) vs. Dave Jansen (12-0)   Just take Rich "cleat" Crunkilton hes fought some of the best in the world  and he has the ufc experience   it would be a huge upset for Dave jansen  to take out Rich Crunkilton weider things have happened i just cant see it happening take   Rich Crunkilton by 3rd round Tko ref stoppage       The main event  Donald Cerrone (10-1) vs. Ben Henderson (9-1)   Henderson is good he really is tremendous upside in a year or two but this is not his time this is Cerrone time  super slick Bjj skills above average striking ability  its not going to be easy but i just cant see Henderson beating Cerrone  Take Cerron by stoppage  arm triangle submission after a takedown.  Going to be some good fights if you like Chalk parlays there are a ton  this is mma and anything can and will happen but i dont see too many upsets going to happen i think i took all the favorites and for good reason  they are the better more experienced fighters.   Enjoy should be some good beatings.

 

Dream 11 yokahama Arena, yokahama, japan.  Time to break down some wacky japanese mixed martial arts some good match ups and then there are some that will make you scratch your head like Tatsuya kawajiri -1700 (24-5-2) vs Melchor  Manibusa +950  whos record is 2-3  sorry Melchor your going to get crushed this is why i call japanese mma wacky why would they even make this matchup???  Tatsuya is top 10 in the world in some rankings and hes not coming off an injury  hes just going to crush melchor in a first round tko or ko probably wont make it past the first min of round one, matter of fact thats my prediction:  Ko/Tko first round stoppage for the "Crusher" Tatsuya kawajiri          next up  kazushi Sakaraba (24-12-1vs Ruben williams (0-0) another miss match  this is Rubens first fight as far as i can find i cant even find any b class shooto matches or anything  Sakaraba is past his prime , well past his prime but he should have more than enough left in the tank to get a first round stoppage vs the unknown Ruben williams, this is a fight to get sakuraba a Win as he is a big draw in japan. First round Tko ref stoppage or submission win for Sakaraba he can win this matchup anyway he wants. if your somebody who likes to talk big chalk lines these two are about as close as locks as they come in mixed martial arts.   Joe warren vs Bibianano Fernandes is a solid fight  Bibianano's Bjj skills are no joke and hes a top level fighter  but Joe warren is a world class olympic level wrestler hes raw but a handful for anybody. Joe is still learning this is a dangerous fight for Joe but i still think he takes a unanamous dec.                              one of the fights i love is Ikuhisa minowa +170 vs Hongman choi  sure choi is lare 7 foot something and 300Lbs  this is part of the super hulk tourney doesnt matter minowa is quick if he can get in and out he can win but if he fights like hehas in the past against huge guys he could get crushed.   Im taking the upset  ikuhisa minowa +170 by heel hook sub   Next up is Ufc and pride veteran        Rameau Sokoudjou   -650 vs Bob sapp  easy fight for sokoudjou imo  Bob sapp is slow, not very skilled, and has no long term stamina or ground game. The way you beat sokoudjou is through his lack of bjj/grappling skils and bob sapp also has a lack of ground skills Bob is a k-1 striker but he seems to just be in the fight game for the money now i'd be shocked if he beat sokoudjou he just doesnt have the skill set to beat him.  striking sokoudjou is way too fast for Bob and sokoudjou is a judo black belt so if anybody is getting the takedown its sokoudjou. I think sokoudjou will win the "super hulk tourney".     Sokoudjou by 2 round tko ref stoppage.              Last but not least you have  shinya aoki vs Joachim Hansen      this is going to be a good one  Shinya is top 10 in the world  one of the best Bjj players to ever walk the earth  slick slick grappler  who already has one win over hansen by gogoplata i'd pick Aoki by submission again but i have the feeling hansen can pull this out the first time Aoki jumped on hansen before he could even get into the fight this time i think he'll be ready if you can keep Aoki standing and not get pulled into guard Hansen can pick aoki apart on the feet no problem.  Hansen isnt a bad grappler its just that its aoki's world if it hits the ground.  im taking the live underdog  Joachim Hansen by split dec  +165  if hes smart he'll keep it standing and pick aoki apart without risking too much.    And thats the Dream fight card some locks, some  live dogs, if you are a parlay player  there are some solid parlay picks heavy favorites to match up and make some $$$ good luck.  set your alarm clocks this comes on hdnet at 4am est i think. UFC  fight night free on spike tv lets start with the undercard matches that matter,  Mike Pyle -135 vs Chris Wilson +115 the battle of two two former teammates from Team Quest north. This one is a mortal combat  mirror match two good grapplers decent strikers  i'd probably give the edge to Chris Wilson his brazilian jiu jitsu is a little bit slicker. This ones really close almost to close to call i would stay away from this one for betting purposes. my pick is Chris Wilson +115.   The next match worth talking about is  Steve Cantwell -275 vs Brian Stann  +235   this is the rubber match both fighters coming off of loses their last fight Stann was ko'ed by Cantwell this is why i think the oddsmakers made Cantwell such a big favorite, the fight will be closer then the odds show. This fight is a toss up my lean is to Cantwell his striking looked crisp last time they fought in the WEC  both are former WEC light heavyweight champions.  My prediction is  Cantwell   but  there is value in Stann at +235 like i said it could go either way.  The rest of the Undercard is a bit onesided looks like Joe silva the Ufc  matchmaker is trying to get some of the Tuf contestants some wins for the rest of the Undercard let go with Sam stout, Cb dollaway, Brock larson,Ryan Jensen, and jermey stephens.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Onto the main event Nate Quarry -250  vs Tim credeur +210  This is one of those fights where i dont think the dog has much chance  Nate's standup is so much better than crazy tims, Tim is tough and he has outstanding Brazilian jiu jitsu skills but he doesnt have the type of stand up needed to test Nate's chin. If nate cant beat Crazy Tim he needs to rethink if he wants to do the whole fighting thing. This is a fight he needs to have and i think he gets the win by ko  prediction Nate      Quarry.  Next up we have Carlos Condit -400 vs Jake ellenberger +325   I dont know much about Ellenberger but hes a solid 21-4 with wins over notables such as jose pele landi-johns, laverne clark, zach light,and Gil castillo  all some tough guys but hes going to have his hands full with the natural born killer carlos condit who can do it all solid striking and solid ground skills his first Ufc fight was a loss after being a dominant WEC welterweight champion I look for Carlos to get back to his winning ways now that the first fight UFC jitters are gone  Carlos Condit by  3rd round TKO ref stoppage.      Our next fight is  Gray Maynard -320 vs Roger Huerta +260    Huerta +260 is tempting hes a good fighter a real good fighter but this is just a bad style match up for el matador , Roger is great at high pace takedowns and ground n pound but good luck taking the "Bully" down an All american D-1 wrestler at michigan state  and a huge light weight they dont call Gray the bully for nothing  I see a  the Bully taking a decision (split) Gray maynard   Main event of the night  Nate Diaz -245 vs melvin Guillard +205  Melvin is good play with 2 to 1 odds  his ground defense sucks and nate is a very good ceaser gracie Brown belt but Melvin is much better and explosive on the feet and Nate diaz isnt a very good wrestler. If Melvin can avoid the takedown theres a good chance for an upset.   I'll bet that Melvin will keep it standing he will be my upset pick on the card  Melvin Guillard +205   so there you have it some good heavy favorites if you like mma parlays if you like live underdogs there are some.  Nate Quarry , Carlos Condit , Brock larson make a nice chalk parlay card. enjoy                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

Okay as for oklahoma lets face it i watched the oklahoma v Byu game right after watching USC v san jose....  Theres a big gap between talent, team speed, and size.  First of  how the hell can a top 3 team look a tad bit faster than BYU... sorry but Byu is slow  most of the same players from last year that looked like they were running in quick sand against utah and especially TCU.  Oklahoma if you were a top program you would have depth at the qb positon and come on the #2 QB looked lost out there look at USC they all compete in practice hard  every week could be a new player at that positon thats why pete does it.  if Barkley is down theres Aaron Corp... if corp is down as well theres Arkansas ex starting qb  mitch Mustain its called depth and preparation. Oh and by the way when was the last time you saw a QB get knocked out with a shoulder sprain .... at first glance it looked like a normal hit  then when he was hurt i thought okay he must have broken his arm or shoulder came out of socket. Nope simple shoulder sprain. WTF  sammy baby you better toughen up before you try and play on sundays  if your getting knocked out of the game by BYU... just a tad bit soft.  Oklahoma cant pick up a 4th and 1 vs Byu then good luck with Texas this isnt the last loss for the sooners even with Bradford back  they will lose to somebody besides texas as well maybe baylor.... dont laugh I watched Baylor and they have alot of team speed  they look explosive and oklahoma looks slow.   Big game bob.... way to make sure everybody is prepared to play. I tried the dodgers with kershaw on the bump +1.5  keep in mind dodgers ml is -320 a solid chance they will win right nope  they  dont score a run. How do you cap baseball  you dont know who the manager is going to bring in from the bullpen. I've seen Joe torre bring in joe mcdonald when he has some lights out guys in the pen when they are rested... no offense to joe mcdonald but come on i've seen you get bombed over and over again. Im thinking Michigan will kill me just dont trust rich rod + he doesnt have the players yet for the spread.  Western michigan is going to put up some points i think its going to be close real close but rich rod had better not lose to another mac team .... even a mac team that beat illinois last year. I dont care wolverines had better not lose on opening day to a mac team at the big house.  Texas, USC, penn state,  are locks  I dont see navy running  the option down the buckeye defenses throat  should be an easy win for the buckeyes.  Nebraska should be able to beat up on  Florida Atlantic at home in lincoln its going to be a mad house there my family is from lincoln and they said the towns a lil amped up like the old days.  Clemson  should be able to splatter middle tennese state at home   not too worried about this one.  LSU should destroy  Washington .... the talent gap there isnt even close outside of jake locker how many of the kids on the huskies team could play for lsu? not many. Of course the game will be close in the start  but Lsu will pull away in the second half... Jake locker i love the guy and he'll be playing in the NFL one day... guy has great wheels but he better not try to pull the ball down and run like he does against the pac-10  LSU defense might kill the kid. Dont Scramble against elite SEC defenses.  Oklahoma is a lock i dont care what anybody says  Byu has men  25  been on missions, mature,and all that jazz sure they are big but man are they slow... im talking real slow  did anybody see that TCU game last year.  Oklahoma might drop 50 on that weak ass defense.   Lack of Team speed for sure.  UCLA  always makes me nervous i went to spring practice and prince looks light years better than kevin craft even though last year craft had most of the playing time.  Prince can scramble and seems to understand the offense. If the bruins lose to san diego state im going to go ape shit. top 25 recruiting class or not they still dont look anywhere near USC players... I go to both spring practices. with that said better not lose today i'll be watching  this is one of the teams i think that could kill my parlay.   Alabama im confident in even though they are -260  I know virgina tech inside and out and if anybody thinks Tyrod Taylor is going to pick apart Alabamas Defense your smoking the good stuff.  Beamer is so conservative, lets play field position and keep it close.  none of those VT wr scare anybody  The TE Boone is a beast/load but yeah. If Ed Wang is considered your best offensive lineman you've got some problems. Bud fosters Defense is always solid but not SEC solid. Jason worilds is a stud no doubt been watching him for a while but Bama can run the ball at him. Saban over beamer all day in the coaching department if mcelroy can just not turn the ball over i think he will have better stats than Tyrod Taylor... look for mr Taylor to have at least 2 int thrown same as jack locker earlier if Tyrod pulls the ball down and decides to run he better get down and get down quick.  VT going to have a hard hard time trying to establish the run vs mount cody and the bama D  ... Roll tide.  The game that really makes nervous is notre dame vs  nevada... Nevada = great coach with a gimmick offense that is good by the way the pistol is no joke with a good veteran mobile QB in kappernick. I think even in south bend this has a chance to be an upset. Not sold on Charlie weis not sold on jimmy clausen of course i think notre dame is the better team with NFL future players but it seems like they just dont get it. They are just like UCLA  top 25 recruting classes every year but those players dont look anything like the players from florida, usc, Alabama, LSU.   Going to be intresting almost worth me losing my parlay to see charlie weis get fired.   I think all the chalk should get win we'll see what happens  after oregon get held to single digits anything is possible... oh last but not least, thanks to the Dodgers last night that killed my parlay god i hate baseball how the hell do you not score a run as -320 against matt leblanc????   i had +1.5  if they score one run i win what the f@#k dodgers you guys suck.  This is what happens when you dont follow your own rules....
